Cultural Festival

Immerse yourself in a spectacular showcase of local, regional and global Indigenous culture at the 2023 Masters Indigenous Games Cultural Festival. Located at the beautiful Lansdowne Park (TD Place) on the Great Lawn, the festival will be within a 5-10 minute drive between most venues. The festival will offer a celebration of cultural experiences through workshops, storytelling, and interactive performances, as well as daily demonstrations of various traditional games and main stage performances by an array of stellar Indigenous musicians, artists and performers.

Visitors will be able to participate in any of the given traditional games, watch the performances, participate in workshops and shop the Vendor Village, featuring Indigenous vendors, and enjoy a range of delicious cuisines and fun snacks from food vendors and food trucks. The Ottawa 2023 MIG Cultural Festival will be free and open to the public throughout the Games to provide visitors with fun, engaging and family-friendly activities.

The Ottawa 2023 MIG Cultural Festival will be open from Friday, August 25 to Sunday, August 27; hours to be confirmed.

TRADITIONAL SPORT DEMONSTRATIONS

A number of traditional sport demonstrations will take place daily in the 2023 MIG Cultural Village where visitors will have the chance to watch demos and learn more about each sport and its history and then be able to participate after the demonstration takes place.

The 2023 MIG Cultural Village will also feature a vendors’ village showcasing a variety of Indigenous traditional handicrafts, arts, natural foods and wellness items, jewelry, clothing and merchandise. Check out the full list of vendors below.

CULTURAL PERFORMANCES

The 2023 MIG Cultural Village will feature a wide range of performances by Indigenous artists from around the world. Performances will take place throughout the three-day cultural village on the main-stage, with special showcases of world-renown singers, dancers, and performers every evening. Admission to the Cultural Village will be free of charge and open to the public.

The 2023 MIG is now accepting applications for vendors. Rates are as follows:
Early bird pricing (before April 30, 2023); fees include vendor booth (table, 2 chairs and tent/or tenting) and are inclusive for August 25-27:

  • Educational Post-Secondary Institutions: $300
  • Corporate For-Profit Business: $500
  • Food: $150
  • Not-For-Profit Registered Charity: $50

Regular Pricing (after April 30, 2023):
